On the occasion of the Post-centennial Silver Jubilee of the Rosario High School and to fulfil the long felt need of the people of the locality, it was decided in 1982 to start an English medium section for boys. With the initiative of the then Correspondent and Parish Priest of the Rosario Cathedral Rev. Msgr. Fred V. Pereira, necessary permission was obtained from the education department to start English Medium Section. Due to the inevitable transfer of the correspondent, the dream was realized in Rev. Fr. Alexander Lobo, who took charge as the Headmaster of the Rosario High School in May 1983 spearheaded the historic journey. A visionary par excellence with administrative prudence and academic caliber started classes from 1st to 7th. A Floor was constructed to accommodate the students of classes 1 to 7. The first batch of standard first comprised of 40 students.
Subsequently with the retirement of Rev. Fr. Alexander Lobo, Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas took charge. During his tenure an additional floor was raised which now accommodates classes 6th and 5th and KG section was shifted to the English Medium Block.
During the years our institution has grown. In 2007-08, marked the Silver Jubilee Celebration of our school. Our students are the proud ambassadors spread all over the world holding coveted jobs or doing well in academics. Girls are admitted toL.K.G .,U.K.G.,and Std.1st from this academic year.
Present Activities and achievements:
“The basic aim of Education is to prepare the child for intellectual growth and to make him a good human being.” It has been our constant endeavour to achieve this purpose. Besides academics the alround development of the child is catered to. Variety of activities are conducted during the year such as Dance, Drawing ,Art and craft, Karate, Music (organ and guitar), Singing, Quiz, Cubs and Scout. All these activities provide ample opportunities to open up their budding skills and creative thinking. Students participate in various interschool competitions too. Our students have kept up tradition of excellent performance in sports and games and have brought laurels by recording victories at Taluk, Zonal and District Level. From 2001-02 the students have won the team championship for athletics.
Students have also won prizes in foot ball at the Taluk, District, Divisional and participated also in National Foot ball championship.
