Mangaluru , Sep 29 : The inauguration of two day exhibition of Rosaries and Konkani Marian literature was held on 29 September 2018 at Milagres Jubilee hall.

Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza, Bishop Emeritus inaugurated the exhibition by flashing colours on the portrait of Immaculate Heart of Mary drawn on the spot by Ms Shabari Ganiga, the famous artist of India.

In his address, chief guest Ex- MLA J R Lobo said, “As mother never abandons her child in problems, similarly Mother Mary is always there with us in our problems. Praying of rosary has helped me to resolve various official issues. Regretting that present generation is not praying rosary in the families and as a result their faith has become shallow. This exhibition must inspire the people to pray the rosary in the families.”

He appreciated Mr Sabhu who has more than 60 thousand collection of rosaries, crosses and statues of Mary. He was overwhelmed with the drawing of Mother Mary by Ms Shabari and said unless and until one contemplates on Mary, they cannot draw such a master piece.

Bishop Emeritus in his presidential address quoted St John Paul II and his devotion to Mother Mary which is an inspiration to us. "Praying Rosary saves us as it saved St John Paul II. Contemplate the face of Jesus by reciting the mysteries of Rosary. Marian literature that exhibited in the venue reminds how spiritual literature helps to strengthen the catholic faith", the bishop said.
