Mangaluru , Nov. 19 : “Past 450 years have passed with the blessings of Our Lady of Holy Rosary, this Jubilee celebration should make us more humane in relating to the people” said Bishop Dr Peter Paul Saldanha here at Rosario Cathedral, Mangaluru. He was addressing the gathering on the occasion of 450 year of Jubilee celebrations at Rosario Cathedral on November 18, 2018. Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the Bishop Emeritus of Mangaluru Diocese, Msgr. Maxim Noronha the vicar general, V. Rev Fr Stanislaus D’Souza SJ, Sri UT Khader - Dist. In charge and urban development Minister, Sri Oscar Fernandes the member of Raja Sabha were the chief guests of the programmes.

On this occasion of Jubilee Oscar Fernandes released a special stamp of Rosario Cathedral. Various projects of the 450 years were inaugurated. A cheque of 1 lack was handed over to the SVP unit of the parish by the Bishop Emeritus Dr Aloysius Paul D Souza for the purpose of repairing the houses of the poor. Minister Sri UT Khader handed over financial help to 10 poor families’ for acquiring title deeds. Sri Boje Gaoeda MLC, conveyed the greeting from the Chief minister. Sri Ivan D’Souza MLC, Sri J.R Lobo Ex MLA, Sri Abdul Latif - Corporator, Sr Milly Fernandes, Sr Mabilia AC, Sri MP Noronha, Rev Fr J.B Crasta - Rector of the Cathedral, Rev Fr Flavian Lobo - Asst Parish Priest, Mr. CJ Simon the vice president, Mrs Elizabeth Roche the Secretary of the parish pastoral council were present at the dais.

Programme began with a welcome dance by the students of the Rosario English medium and parish children. Rev Fr J.B Crasta, Rector of the Cathedral welcomed the gathering. Mrs Elizabeth Roche proposed vote of thanks. Mr John D’silva compered the programme.
